If you're cooking with your toddler, ask him or her to tell you what color is the carrot you're chopping. Have him or her hold the carrot. Even munch on the carrot. Encourage your toddler to take an active part in the cooking and turn it into a learning and fun experience for the both of you.
• When your toddler is playing outside, have him or her feel the grass with his or her feet. Ask your toddler what color is the grass, how it feels beneath his or her feet. You can turn any outdoor activity into an exploratory adventure!
